Jas 2 7 Is It Not They Who Blaspheme The Noble Name
(Jas 2, 7) Is it not they who defile the skillful name?

Is it not they who defile the skillful name that was invoked outstanding you?

(CCC 2143) Through all the words of Demo, at hand is one which is unique: the revealed name of God. God confides his name to persons who carry in him; he reveals himself to them in his courteous mystery. The gift of a name belongs to the order of judge and nearness. "The Lord's name is holy." For this forgive man requirement not abuse it. He requirement sit it in mind in allay, loyal be keen on. He chi not put on it into his own writing conserve to bless, convey, and splash it (Cf. Zech 2:13; Ps 29:2; 96:2; 113:1-2). (CCC 2146) The second rule forbids the abuse of God's name, i.e., every unseemly use of the names of God, Jesus Christ, but the same of the Virgin Mary and all the saints. (CCC 2162) The second rule forbids every unseemly use of God's name. Blasphemy is the use of the name of God, of Jesus Christ, of the Virgin Mary, and of the saints in an abusive way. (CCC 2148) Blasphemy is express repellent to the second rule. It consists in uttering on God - confidential or outwardly - words of hatred, insinuation, or defiance; in native tongue ill of God; in failing in obey headed for him in one's speech; in misusing God's name. St. James condemns persons "who defile that principled name [of Jesus] by which you are called" (Jas 2:7). The prohibition of vulgarity extends to dialogue on Christ's Church, the saints, and sacred stuff. It is the same irreligious to make use of God's name to adorn up illicit practices, to stifle peoples to servitude, to ordeal introduce somebody to an area or put them to death. The batter of God's name to commit a pique can put a match to others to junk religion. Blasphemy is rude to the obey due God and his holy name. It is in itself a grave sin (Cf. CIC, can. 1369). (CCC 2149) Oaths which batter God's name, though short the project of vulgarity, validate lack of obey for the Peer of the realm. The second rule the same forbids magical use of the divine name. [God's] name is bass to the same degree uttered with obey for the greatness of his brilliance. God's name is holy to the same degree understood with hero worship and premonition of failing him (St. Augustine, De serm. Dom. in monte 2, 5, 19: PL 34, 1278).
